Presidents Waffle

We have a full house for our new committee so hopefully we can get cracking and sort out our

programme for the year. Our aim is to provide a monthly day outing for members, a trip every

long weekend and at least two weekend trips during the year – as well as the long distance

trips. Plus a social event every two months. Three things we need to sort out in the coming year:

We need to attract new members – if nothing else to keep our average age down – it went up

by at least a year last year with only one new member We need to spread the load in terms

of suggesting day trips and then leading such trips. I feel this pretty important part of keeping

the interest in the Club going – and attractive to younger members. We need to have a

couple of successful weekend trips – long weekends are fine – but most of the best locations

gets crowded on long weekends so the shorter weekends are better – and many of us can

make them optional long weekends in any case. As we head into our 50th year let’s make

sure we present a vibrant club.
